Program Courses and Descriptions
Asian Bodywork and Therapeutic Massage Diploma Program is an interdisciplinary program. This program requires analysis and synthesis of knowledge and skills of Western and Eastern science and bodywork. East-West Healing Arts Institute has an integrated curriculum. Our program includes thorough instruction in both Eastern and Western modalities of therapeutic massage and a rigorous course of study in Western science. You will appreciate differing perspectives and methods in your courses. You will gain an understanding of many systems of Asian body therapy. You will also experience real-world knowledge about professional ethics, massage law, and business fundamentals, skills essential to reach your career goals. The program totals 800 hours, 200 more than the minimum of 600 required by the state of Wisconsin for licensing. Our program exceeds requirements for applying for the national certification examination with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork’s (NCBTMB). National certification is required for state licensing in Wisconsin and is recognized by most states throughout the country for licensure. Completion of this program can be attained in 10 months.
